SAP SuccessFactors Implementation Services

SAP SuccessFactors is SAP's cloud-native Human Capital Management (HCM) suite — covering the full employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding through performance management, learning, compensation and succession planning, with Employee Central as the core HR system of record.

For organisations running SAP ERP HCM (on-premise), SuccessFactors is the strategic successor. For organisations new to SAP, it is the entry point for cloud HR. Either way, a SuccessFactors implementation is a people process transformation — not just a technology deployment — and it succeeds or fails based on how well the configuration reflects how your HR team actually operates.

2iSolutions delivers SuccessFactors as a SAP Gold Partner — from initial scoping through multi-module implementation, integration with S/4HANA and payroll, data migration and managed services. With 246+ clients and 21 years of SAP delivery, we bring the enterprise integration depth that standalone HR consultancies lack.

SuccessFactors — one suite, eight interconnected modules around Employee Central

Employee Central is the core — the system of record for organisational structure, employee data, job information and employment history. Every other module depends on Employee Central data: Recruiting feeds new hires into it, Performance reads from it, Compensation writes back to it, and S/4HANA integrates with it for finance and payroll.

Our Services

Six SuccessFactors services — from scoping to managed platform

2iSolutions delivers SuccessFactors across the full lifecycle: initial module selection and scoping, multi-module implementation, integration with S/4HANA and payroll systems, data migration from legacy HR, user enablement and ongoing managed services.

Scoping & Module Selection

Map your HR processes to SuccessFactors modules — identify which modules to implement first, define scope boundaries, establish integration requirements with S/4HANA and payroll, and build a phased implementation roadmap aligned with your HR transformation priorities.

Employee Central Implementation

Core HR configuration — organisational structure, position management, employee and job data models, business rules, workflows, role-based permissions, ESS/MSS configuration and localisation for your operating countries. Employee Central is always the first module — everything else depends on it.

Talent Module Implementation

Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance & Goals, Learning, Compensation, Succession — configured to match your talent processes, not generic best-practice templates. Includes form design, workflow configuration, rating scales, goal library setup, learning content structure and compensation plan configuration.

S/4HANA & Payroll Integration

Employee Central integration with S/4HANA for cost centre posting, finance reconciliation and organisational data synchronisation. Payroll integration via Employee Central Payroll or third-party payroll systems — replication setup, error handling and pay period cycle configuration.

Data Migration & Legacy Transition

Employee master data migration from SAP HCM, PeopleSoft, Workday or legacy HRIS — data mapping, cleansing, validation and phased load into Employee Central. Historical data strategy (migrate vs archive vs reference) designed per data category.

Managed Services & Quarterly Releases

Post-go-live platform management — configuration changes, quarterly release regression testing and feature adoption, user support, permission model maintenance and enhancement delivery. SLA-backed, aligned with our broader SAP AMS capability.

Implementation Approach

Five phases — from scoping to adoption

SuccessFactors implementations succeed or fail based on business process alignment and user adoption — not technical complexity. Our phased approach front-loads process discovery and back-loads enablement, because the technology is only valuable when HR teams and employees actually use it.

Why 2iSolutions

What our SuccessFactors practice brings to your HR transformation

S/4HANA + SuccessFactors Together

Employee Central integration with S/4HANA is where most SuccessFactors projects struggle — cost centre postings, organisational data synchronisation, payroll reconciliation. Having one partner deliver both eliminates the integration gap that separate HR and ERP consultancies consistently produce.

Configuration, Not Customisation

SuccessFactors is SaaS — it receives quarterly releases that overwrite customisations. Our approach configures within the standard framework using business rules, MDF objects and the extension centre — ensuring your implementation survives every quarterly update without regression.

Multi-Country Localisation

Global organisations need SuccessFactors configured for multiple countries simultaneously — different legal entities, pay groups, holiday calendars, statutory requirements and local compliance rules. Our team has delivered multi-country implementations across North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

Adoption Is the Measure

An HR system that employees and managers do not use is a failed project. Our enablement approach includes role-based training (HR admin, manager self-service, employee self-service), process documentation for HR operations and change management support through the first two performance review and compensation cycles.

FAQ

SAP SuccessFactors: questions we hear most

No — and we actively recommend against it. Employee Central should always go first because it is the system of record that every other module depends on. After Employee Central is stable (typically one full HR cycle post go-live), add modules in priority order based on your HR strategy. Common phasing: Phase 1 — Employee Central + Recruiting; Phase 2 — Performance & Goals + Compensation; Phase 3 — Learning + Succession. This phased approach lets your HR team absorb change at a manageable pace and ensures each module is properly configured before adding the next one. Big-bang deployments across all modules have the highest failure rate because they overwhelm HR operations, change management and user adoption capacity simultaneously.

SAP provides pre-built integration packages between Employee Central and S/4HANA covering: organisational data (company codes, cost centres, business areas), employee master data replication, payroll cost posting to FI/CO and time management data synchronisation. These integrations use SAP Cloud Integration (CI) middleware with pre-configured content that covers the standard scenarios. For payroll, Employee Central can replicate employee data to S/4HANA payroll (Employee Central Payroll) or to third-party payroll systems via published APIs. The integration architecture is where most implementations need the most attention — particularly around error handling, data reconciliation and the timing of replication runs relative to payroll cut-off dates. Having one partner manage both S/4HANA and SuccessFactors eliminates the finger-pointing that happens when integration issues arise between two separate vendor teams.

A migration from SAP HCM to SuccessFactors is a re-implementation, not a technical conversion — there is no automated migration tool that lifts HCM configuration into SuccessFactors. The work involves: mapping your current HCM processes to SuccessFactors capabilities, configuring Employee Central to replicate your organisational and employee data structures, migrating employee master data (active employees, organisational assignments, job information, compensation data), migrating historical data where needed (employment history, prior compensation) and transitioning payroll integration. Timeline depends on complexity: a single-country Employee Central migration from SAP HCM typically runs 4–6 months; a multi-module, multi-country migration can run 12–18 months phased across waves. Our team knows SAP HCM deeply enough to map the current state accurately — which prevents the scope gaps that cause migration overruns.

SuccessFactors deploys four major releases per year — they are mandatory and automatic. This means your implementation must be built within the standard configuration framework (business rules, MDF objects, XML configuration, permissions) rather than custom code that breaks on upgrade. During implementation, we design specifically for quarterly release survivability: no hard-coded values, no unsupported customisations, no workarounds that depend on undocumented behaviour. Post go-live, each quarterly release requires regression testing against your specific configuration — our managed services engagement includes pre-release testing, impact assessment and feature adoption recommendations for every quarterly cycle. The quarterly model is a major advantage for innovation adoption (new features arrive automatically) but requires ongoing governance — which is why we include it in our AMS offering.

SuccessFactors supports localisation in 200+ countries — including country-specific fields, statutory reporting requirements, holiday calendars, pay group structures and local compliance rules. Employee Central's foundation object model is designed for global deployments: one global instance with country-specific configurations that handle legal entity structures, local employment terms and regional regulatory requirements without separate instances per country. The implementation complexity for multi-country deployments is in the localisation configuration: each country has specific data model extensions, business rule variations and integration requirements (particularly for local payroll). Our team has delivered multi-country implementations across North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific — and the key lesson from every deployment is: do not underestimate localisation effort. We scope each country individually based on actual regulatory requirements, not on a per-country multiplier.

A single-country Employee Central implementation with basic integration to S/4HANA or payroll typically runs 3–5 months from kickoff to go-live. Adding Recruiting and Onboarding in the same phase extends to 5–7 months. A multi-module deployment (Employee Central + Recruiting + Performance + Compensation) for a single country runs 6–9 months. Multi-country implementations are phased by country or region — each wave adding 2–4 months depending on localisation complexity. We always recommend aligning go-live timing with a natural HR cycle boundary: beginning of a fiscal year, start of a performance review cycle or a new compensation planning period. Going live mid-cycle creates reconciliation overhead that is entirely avoidable with timing alignment.
