SAP Analytics Cloud Dashboard & Reporting Services
Your CFO asks a question at 9 AM. With SAP Analytics Cloud, the answer is live on their screen before they finish their coffee — pulled in real time from S/4HANA or BW/4HANA, with drill-down to the transaction that caused the variance. No report request to IT, no stale extract, no version confusion.
SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is SAP's strategic BI platform for dashboards, interactive stories, ad-hoc analysis and AI-powered insights. It connects live to S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Datasphere and HANA — meaning your analytics reflect the current state of your business, not last night's batch extract.
2iSolutions delivers SAC dashboards and reporting from connectivity setup through story design, BEx migration, self-service enablement and ongoing content management — as a SAP Gold Partner with 21 years of SAP BI delivery across every generation from BEx to SAC.
What a live SAC story looks like for your executives
An SAC story is not a static report — it is an interactive analytical canvas that assembles KPIs, charts, tables and filters into a live, drillable experience. This is what 2iSolutions builds for your business.
Six dashboard and reporting services — from first connection to self-service rollout
2iSolutions delivers SAC dashboards end to end: live connection architecture, story design and development, BEx and BusinessObjects migration, AI feature enablement, self-service training and ongoing content governance.
Three ways SAC connects to your data — and when to use each
Connection architecture is the single most important design decision in a SAC deployment. Get it wrong and dashboards are slow, data is stale and security is inconsistent. Get it right and analytics are live, governed and performant.
What our dashboard practice delivers that generic BI partners don't
SAC dashboards delivered by a team that has built SAP BI for 21 years — from BEx to SAC.
From live connection architecture through story design, BEx migration, AI enablement and enterprise self-service rollout — 2iSolutions delivers SAC dashboards as a SAP Gold Partner with deep source-system knowledge and 5,000+ user training experience.
SAC Dashboard & Reporting: questions we hear most
A live connection means SAC queries your source system (S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Datasphere, HANA) in real time every time the dashboard is opened or a filter is changed — data never leaves your landscape, there is no copy to manage and your security model from the source system applies automatically. This is fundamentally different from traditional BI tools that extract data overnight into a separate reporting database: with a live connection, your CFO's dashboard at 2 PM shows 2 PM data, not last night's snapshot. The trade-off is that dashboard performance depends on the source system's query response time — which is why connection architecture and query optimisation are critical design decisions that we handle as part of every SAC engagement.
For the vast majority of use cases, yes. SAC stories cover interactive dashboards, formatted reports, ad-hoc analysis (Data Analyzer) and mobile consumption. The migration is a programme: most organisations have hundreds of BEx queries and WebI documents, 30–50% of which are unused or duplicated. Our approach starts with inventory and usage analysis — retire dead content, consolidate duplicates, migrate remaining content in priority order. Highly formatted pixel-perfect operational outputs (invoices, statutory returns, packing lists) may need Crystal Reports or an alternative, which we flag during the assessment rather than discovering mid-migration. SAC is SAP's strategic analytics platform and receives quarterly feature updates; BEx and BusinessObjects are in maintenance — so the investment direction is clear.
Just Ask is SAC's natural language query interface — users type a question in plain English (or other supported languages) and SAC generates a chart or table to answer it. "Show me revenue by region for Q3" produces a bar chart immediately, without the user needing to know which query or data source to use. Smart Insights takes AI further: click any data point on a chart and SAC automatically identifies the top drivers that caused the value — for example, "revenue increased 14% driven primarily by a 22% increase in Region North, partially offset by a 3% decline in Region West." This replaces the manual drill-down and investigation that analysts currently do in Excel. Joule, SAP's AI copilot, extends this further with conversational assistance for story building and data exploration. We configure all three as part of our standard SAC engagement.
In nearly every case, yes — and the root causes are predictable. Common culprits: stories with too many widgets querying on initial load (every widget fires a separate query), BW queries returning excessive cell counts through live connections, missing or overly broad default filters forcing full data scans, complex calculated measures evaluated at render time, and un-optimised CDS views behind S/4HANA live connections. Our SAC performance engagement profiles each story end to end — measuring time in SAC rendering, time in network transit and time in source-system query execution — then remediates in impact order: query redesign, story restructuring (lazy-loading tabs, splitting overloaded stories), filter strategy, and where needed, data model adjustments. We typically bring multi-minute load times down to single-digit seconds. This is available as a standalone engagement for organisations with existing SAC landscapes.
SAC is a core component of SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) — BDC bundles Datasphere, SAC, Databricks and Object Store into one subscription. Going forward, SAP will not sell SAC separately. But nothing about investing in SAC today is wasted: every story, every model, every user skill transfers directly into a BDC deployment. BDC's Insight Apps are themselves pre-built SAC applications. We design all SAC engagements to be BDC-forward — connection architecture and story design follow patterns that map cleanly onto BDC data products, so a future BDC adoption is a licensing transition, not a rebuild. The practical answer: do not wait. Build SAC dashboards now, connect live to S/4HANA, deliver value immediately. When BDC timing is right for your organisation, the transition is smooth.
SAC is designed for self-service — the interface is deliberately visual and drag-and-drop. A trained business analyst can build a new story, add chart widgets, connect to an existing live model, apply filters and publish for their team within an hour. But "self-service" requires two things most deployments skip: a governance framework (who can publish what to which folder, using which data models) and structured training (not a one-day workshop, but hands-on creation of real stories using real company data). Without both, self-service becomes either chaos (100 uncontrolled stories using different data sources) or abandonment (users revert to Excel because they were never properly enabled). Our enablement programme includes both: a train-the-trainer model that produces internal SAC champions, and a self-service governance framework that keeps content quality high without bottlenecking through IT.
