We have an excellent 1 year contract opportunity with possible extension for a Senior SAP Developer in Ottawa.
Work would be done remotely until the pandemic situation normalizes.

Must Have:
• Reliability level Federal Security clearance is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in developing SAP applications.
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in progressively advancing roles within IT.
• Extensive experience on SAP upgrade and SAP Testing
• Experience in two or more of the SAP HCM modules: Personnel Administration (PA), Personnel Time Management (PT), Payroll Accounting (PY) and Organizational Management

The Business Solution Delivery Enablers HR team delivers solutions for Canada Post and Purolator for all SAP HCM modules.
The SAP Developer role is to develop application code in accordance with application standards and best practices working on projects, change requests, and minor enhancements. This individual is responsible for analyzing, developing, and delivering the technical solution that satisfies the solution component design as prescribed during the design sprint and defined in Agile user stories.
The SAP Developer also works with incident management software to investigate, resolve issues with various applications and resolve defects.
The Developer unit tests changes to applications to ensure that the quality level delivered to QA is acceptable.
This individual is well versed in agile methodologies and development.


• Understand and interpret functional requirements as set forth in functional design documents and/or user stories.
• Develop, integrate, test, maintain and enhance existing and proprietary SAP platform applications.
• Design, develop and unit test technical solutions for moderate to complex work objects assigned.
• Provide support to test teams during product and UAT testing of the technical solution developed.
• Prepare and implement the technical solution to the production environment.
• Investigate and provide post implementation support of the technical solution implemented.
Agile Development
• Participate in sprint planning, design, coding, unit testing, sprint reviews
• Works with the Product Owner and Business Analyst to help define user stories and acceptance criteria before moving into the development phase
• Provide design documents and translate into component-level designs to accelerate development. Design, develop, and distribute reusable technical components.
• Assist in developing technical documentation; participate in test-plan development, integration, and deployment.
• Define and develop project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed designs of application solutions for clients.


Must Have:
• Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in developing SAP applications
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in progressively advancing roles within IT
• Extensive experience on SAP upgrade and SAP Testing

• Experience in two or more of the following SAP HCM modules:
o Personnel Administration (PA)
o Personnel Time Management (PT)
o Payroll Accounting (PY)
o Organizational Management (OM)

• HCM Processes and Forms, Manager Self-Service, Employee Self-Service
• Agile development
• Jira experience for issue tracking and project delivery
• Advanced technologies testing and performance tuning

Nice to have:

• SAP ABAP Development Certification
• SAP SuccessFactors experience
• Cloud computing / SaaS / IaaS / PaaS technologies
• Web Dynpro experience

Team is located at the March Rd office in Ottawa. Currently the office is open only for essential work. The Enablers SAP HCM team is currently operating in a “Work from Home” model. Once the office reopens fully, it will be done under a hybrid hoteling model. Details of that model are still being developed.

Preference will be given to local candidates who are able to commute to March Rd when the team returns to the office under the future hybrid model. Candidates located elsewhere in Ontario or western Quebec will also be considered.
Contractors are asked to show proof of vaccination at the front door. Masks should be worn at all times while being inside the office and social distancing is encouraged.

7.5 hours per day between 9 to 5 pm EST

Travel to March Rd may be required on a regular or intermitted basis, depending on the future hybrid model.
