– Key focus of this role is on Data Analytics Design and Azure Cloud Technology
– Hired contractor will initially start working remotely. However, when Innovapost resumes onsite work, the contractor will have to work fulltime onsite as well.
– Whether or not hired contractor will have to take 2-weeks mandatory time of at the end of December is not yet decided. However, if it is decided later that the contractor will have to take the time-off, contract end date will be adjusted accordingly.
– This role can be performed from either Mississauga (Meadowpine Blvd) or Ottawa (March Rd).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Working on a two critical projects under cloud platform
– Designing analytical data model and setting up of Azure services(see requirements) and comply with design standards/patterns
– Working closely with the Cloud team in designing solutions, planning, estimating, prioritization of tasks, attending daily stand up.
– Working closely with data architect, solution architect, solution integration architect and other technical teams in reviewing analytical solution design.
– Performing full unit testing
– Working with our partners in discussion/presenting solutions as needed
– Updating JIRA task progress, define epic/stories
– Working with QA and others project technical teams
– Working with DevOps/Production Support for any hand over/KT of completed projects.
– Completing required documentations
SKILL/ QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 5-7 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. (Senior role would have experience working in at least 2 data engineering projects)
- Experience with data architecture, modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
- Experienced with cloud technology (Azure, AWS, Google)
- Experience with Azure cloud platform(Azure Services, Resources, Monitor, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Event Hub, Data lake Storage, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Power BI…)
- Experience with Apache spark and Pyspark Libraries
- Experience with steam ingestion platforms such as event hub, IoT hub and azure steam analytics
- Experience with deploying or maintaining data infrastructure in cloud (Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bitbucket or ansible)
- Experience gathering business requirements, formulating metrics and building highly scalable pipelines.
- Detailed knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses, architecture, infrastructure components, ETL and reporting/analytic tools and environments.
- Solid understanding of data integration and business intelligence or data analytics.
- Experience in SQL scripting and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent understanding of software development life cycle and/or agile development environment with emphasis on data analytics.
- Experience working closely with DevOps team.
- Ability to collaborative with partners, stakeholders and customers while managing expectations.
- Ability to Work with the business owners and partners to build analytical solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and planning with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
