Work would be done remotely until the pandemic situation normalizes.

Must haves:

• 5+ years project experience deploying cloud solutions on major CSP platforms
• 3+ years architecting and implementing infrastructure and topologies on leading CSP platforms
• 3+ years experience working in agile and/or devops project delivery methodologies in an Enterprise
• Deep product knowledge and understanding of product features for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, Automation and DevOps tools, and other modern cloud tools

Cloud Architect – Migration

The Cloud Migration Stream within the NGI program is in need of a Cloud Architect to assist with the assessment of the current-state workload, analyzing the technical complexity of migration, and determining the appropriate migration path (“R-factor”) and careful bundling, coordination, and sequencing of workload.  This role is required to:

• Provide the conceptual, logical and physical reference design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms
• Research, analyze, recommend and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems
• Provide guidance on new tools and techniques to increase performance, automation, agility and scalability as the team works through the rationalizing applications for migration to Cloud

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Understand business goals and drivers and translate those into an appropriate technical solution
• Be versed in leading Cloud Service Providers (CSP) platforms, cloud solutions, architectures, related technologies and their interdependencies
• Gather technical requirements, assess client capabilities and analyze findings to provide appropriate cloud solution recommendations and adoption strategy
• Create the conceptual, logical and physical reference design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms
• Research, analyze, recommend and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems
• Provide guidance on new tools and techniques to increase performance, automation, agility and scalability
• Collaborate as part of larger project/product teams which may include project managers, business analysts, architects, developers, and change management professionals
• Provide technical direction and oversight to cloud implementation teams
• Provide advisory and delivery as a key stakeholder in a Cloud Centre of Excellence (CoE) in evaluating Cloud Services and rationalizing applications for migration to Cloud

CRITICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES CHARACTERISTICS

Must have:

• B.S. in Computer Science, related fields or commensurate work experience
• 5+ years project experience deploying cloud solutions on major CSP platforms
• 3+ years architecting and implementing infrastructure and topologies on leading CSP platforms
• 3+ years experience working in agile and/or devops project delivery methodologies in an Enterprise
• Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking and cloud-based services for business teams or consumers
• Deep product knowledge and understanding of product features for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, Automation and DevOps tools, and other modern cloud tools
• Strong analytical problem-solving ability
• Good presentation skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team
• Understanding of cloud ecosystem and leading-edge cloud emerging technologies

• Expert in developing Infrastructure-as-Code
• Experience configuring and tuning virtual private clouds
• Experience with Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), SAML, web Single Sign-on (SSO), OAuth and related authentication technologies
• Transport Layer Security / SSL principles and management
• Experience with networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies)
• A security-first mindset when architecting, deploying and supporting workloads
• Practical experience sizing hardware and storage needs
